KU Kappa Kappa Gamma Moms’ Weekend begins Friday night, April 8, 2022. On this evening there will be separate dinners and a possible gathering afterwards for each of the four classes. The seniors do a rotational dinner at participating senior houses. The other grades go to various restaurants in Lawrence.
Saturday night’s nice event is at the Oread Hotel. This will include a cocktail hour, silent and live auction, dinner and other entertainment. Full event details will be published here and on the Events page as they become available.
We truly hope all can join us for Moms’ Weekend! It’s a wonderful opportunity to meet your daughter’s friends, their mothers and get a sense of their sorority life and overall college experience.
Hotel Blocks
Many moms wish to book hotel rooms in Lawrence for one or both nights. Please note you are not limited to these accommodations, KKGMC reserves blocks for convenience. We have only 60 rooms for this busy weekend and unfortunately, most blocks sell out quickly.
You might also check Air BnB and VRBO for other lodging options. Ubering back to KC is also a possibility if you want to get other’s to ride with you and share the cost. Others have had spouses pick them up in Lawrence or drive back and forth if able.
Please make note of the cancellation policies and reservations requirements for each hotel when booking your room. For Moms Weekend, the Oread and the Eldridge have 90 or 60-day cancellation policies and will charge full payment at the time of booking. Also consider the limited parking in Lawrence and ask if there are additional parking or valet charges at the hotel you choose to stay.
